Gabriel is photographer based in Beirut. His work questions systemic and self-imposed borders (such as nationality, gender, class etc.) and the role of images in constructing or dismantling them.
In 2022, Gabriel was selected for the Arab Documentary Photography Program by the Magnum Foundation, the Prince Claus Fund and the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture for his project “Doumari”.
He has collaborated with national and international publications such as Le Monde, Mediapart, The Wall Street Journal, DAZED, Der Standard, La Revue 6Mois, Socialter, Megaphone News, and with organizations such as UN Women and Mercy Corps.
Gabriel is a self-taught photographer and holds an MA in Political Science and International Relations. He has worked in disaster management and recovery across SWANA. He is both captivated by the region and tired of hearing that "things were better before”. His disillusionment with conventional political actors has reaffirmed his belief in the power of stories to bear witness and instigate social change.
